Former North East Calgary MP calls for O'Toole's resignation
Parliament is back and while the focus is on what is happening on the foots of Parliament Hill, Conservatives are still looking to force an early leadership review of Erin O'Toole.
Former Member of Parliament for Calgary North East Devinder Shory is adding his name to the list of prominent supporters calling for the resignation of the embattle CPC leader.
In a statement released by Members Vote, an organization that was launched by Saskatchewan Senator Denis Batters, Shory said that during his time in Conservative politics he hasn't seen a conservative leader like Erin O'Toole, " I have been actively involved with the Conservative Movement since the initiation of the Canadians Alliance but have not seen any Conservative Leader as fickle minded as Mr. O'Toole is."
Shory added, "For the betterment of the Conservative Party, we must have a leadership review without any delay."
O'Toole has been under heavy fire since the 2021 election which saw the Conservative fail to pick up any seats, loose seats in Alberta and urban centres.
The former Calgary MP added, "Erin must consider the party interest above his own."
Senator Denis Batters launched a online petition to expedite Erin O’Toole’s CPC leadership review. The website for that petition is http://membersvote.ca
According to http://membersvote.ca, the online petition has over 7,000 signatories to the online petition.
Shory was MP for Calgary North East from 2008 to 2015, in 2015 Shory was defeated by former Liberal MLA Darshan Kang in the riding of Calgary-Skyview.
