Penhold Picks Date For Council By-Election

The town of Penhold, Alberta is sending the residents to the polls on September 6th to vote for a new councillor, after former Councillor Mike Walsh resigned at the end of June.

Walsh made the difficult decision to step down from his position at the end of the month as he pursues a job opportunity in Southern Alberta.

Nominations for the position of Councillor will be accepted until August 9th, 2023, at noon. Interested candidates are urged to submit their paperwork within the given timeframe, at the Penhold Town Office, to be considered for the upcoming byelection.

An election will be held on September 6th if multiple candidates put their names in the hat for the position of Councillor. The Penhold Regional Multiplex will serve as the designated polling location.
