The Dark Side of Municipal Affairs Part 2
Welcome to Municipal Affairs, I’m Christopher Brown.
Today we have a follow-up episode from last Tuesday. In this episode we continue to explore the dark side of municipal politics, focusing on the abuse and harassment municipal officials face.
We are shifting our attention to the unique challenges male municipal leaders confront as they navigate their roles as elected officials.
These leaders often endure an array of abusive behaviours, both from within their organizations and from the public, making their professional journeys particularly arduous.
The discussion will delve into the personal experiences of municipal leaders who have faced such adversities head-on. We will hear their stories, understand the nature and extent of the harassment they've endured, and learn about the strategies they have employed to combat these issues.
Joining us for this insightful roundtable discussion are: Torbay Newfoundland and Labrador Mayor Craig Scott, Zorra Mayor and Oxford Warden Marcus Ryan, and President of the Municipal Base Consultant Firm Strategic Steps Inc, and Author of the upcoming book "(Un)Civil Society," Ian McCormack
Through their candid reflections, we aim to shed light on the systemic issues of abuse in municipal politics and explore potential pathways to safer and more supportive environments for all officials.
Let's begin our journey into understanding and addressing the abuse that shadows the vital work of municipal leaders.
With that Let’s go, And Welcome to Municipal Affairs; The Dark Side of Politics
