Aitchison set to launch CPC leadership Bid Sunday




Ontario MP Scott Aitchison released a campaign launch style video Wednesday night with a simple message. "03.20.2022"


Aitchison who has represented the Ontario riding of Parry Sound-Muskoka since 2019, has been speculated to be considering a run to replace Erin O'Toole.


The Ontario MP posted the video to Twitter, and Facebook with the caption, "Let's be bold. Let's be ambitious and filled with hope. Our best days are still ahead — let's work together to get the job done."


He will be the seventh candidate to announce his intentions to seek the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada. In the race is Ontario MP Pierre Poilievre, Leslyn Lewis, Ontario Independent MPP Roman Baber, Former Quebec Premier Jean Charest, Saskatchewan Business Leader Joseph Bourgault, and Mayor of Brampton (and Former Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader) Patrick Brown.


Conservatives will elect a new leader in September.
