Alberta Statehood Party has new leader in former Innisfail councillor
On January 11th, Glenn Carritt the former councillor for the Town of Innisfail announced via Facebook that he had been elected as the new leader of the Alberta Statehood Party.
Carritt said, "I am honoured to be elected as the new leader of the Alberta Statehood Party. This is an exiting opportunity for Alberta. Join us today!"
The Alberta Statehood Party was founded in 2020, and is founded on the principal of seperation from Canada, in order to become an equal American state, subject to the US Constitution.
"Upon receiving a mandate from the People of Alberta, we will initiate negotiations with the US Government to be admitted to the Union as a full-fledged American State," is outlined on the Alberta Statehood Party Website.
Upon receiving a mandate from the People of Alberta, The Alberta Statehood Party if formed government will initiate an Alberta Constitutional Convention.

At the time of publication, Elections Alberta had no party registered under the name Alberta Statehood Party.
