"Cross Border Interviews" Nominated for Outstanding News & Current Affairs Series

Cross Border Interviews With Chris Brown, the Canadian podcast launched in 2019 with a mission to counter the constant negative social media conversations, has been nominated for the esteemed Outstanding News & Current Affairs Series at the 2023 Canadian Podcast Awards.

Undergoing a transformative year in 2023, the show shifted its focus to the often-underreported realm of Municipal Governments in Canada, engaging listeners globally in profound discussions on Municipalities every Monday to Friday.

Host and Executive Producer Chris Brown expressed gratitude for the nomination, emphasizing the integral role of the show's diverse and insightful guests in its success.

"I believe in the power of unfiltered conversations, where genuine connections and understanding can thrive.

"It's an honour to be recognized, but this nomination truly belongs to the incredible voices and stories we've had the privilege to share on Cross Border Interviews. They are the heart of our show," Brown stated.

He continued, "Whether in bustling urban hubs such as Vancouver, Halifax, or Ottawa, or in the heart of remote rural communities like Barons, Torquay, and Marathon, our conversations with dedicated municipal leaders from all background and provinces and territories have centred around their commitment to community service."

Executive Producer, the Hon. Ricardo Miranda, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the pleasure of the nomination and the honour of being considered alongside esteemed industry peers.

"We're grateful for the recognition, but it's truly a collective effort. The dedication of our team and the inspiring municipal leaders we've had the pleasure of featuring have made this journey meaningful.

"It's a privilege to be among such esteemed nominees, each making a remarkable contribution to the world of podcasts," Miranda said after the nominations were released Tuesday.

The voting window for the awards runs until November 15th, with the winners set to be announced in December.
