Double-Double: Another Ford to run in York South-Weston
The Ford Dynasty is about to get a shot of adrenaline after Toronto City Councillor Michael Ford was announced as the Ontario PC York South-Weston.
"The people of York South-Weston deserve a representative at Queen's Park who doesn't just talk and delay, but will get things built and create good-paying jobs for our community," said Michael Ford.
"I know that only Doug Ford and the Ontario PC team will get the job done. That is why I am honoured to be your PC candidate for York South-Weston, and look forward to earning your support and building our great community," he added.
Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Doug Ford said that he was proud to have Michael on the team, "Michael is one the hardest working people I know. He gets things done and fights for the people he represents every step of the way.
"He's proven himself as a strong advocate for his constituents over the last two terms serving on the city council and will continue doing so at Queen's Park."
Michael is the nephew of Premier Doug Ford.
York South-Weston Liberal candidate Nadia Guerrera responded to Michael Ford entering the race, "The voters in York South-Weston are not looking for a second Ford at Queen's Park, they want the one already there gone."
As Michael begins to work the campaign trail to be the next MPP for York South-Weston, the official press release says that he will be donating his Toronto City Council salary to local community-based organizations.
