Beaumont to Head to the Polls on Oct 16th

Beaumont Alberta Council has set October 16th as the by-eleciton date to replace former Councillor René Tessier who tendered his resignation in late June.

Tessier made the difficult decision to step down from his position at the end of the month as he and his family are moving out of the city. Having been elected as a Councillor in October 2021, Tessier had made notable contributions to the city during his tenure.

As the city looks to find a qualified individual to take Tessier's place, nominations for the position of Councillor will be accepted until September 18th, 2023, at noon, at the Beaumont City Office. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their paperwork within the given timeframe to be considered for the upcoming by-election.

In the event that multiple candidates submit their nominations, an election will be held on October 16th. To ensure accessibility and convenience for voters, advance voting will be available on October 11th and 12th, offering residents the opportunity to cast their votes ahead of the official election day.

The council by-election holds significant importance for Beaumont, as the city continues to address various issues and shape its future.

Beaumont, a vibrant community known for its strong community spirit and commitment to progress, seeks dedicated leaders who can champion its values and represent the interests of its residents. The upcoming by-election offers an occasion for aspiring residents to make a meaningful impact and help shape the city's trajectory.
