Canadians Pick Up Golden Nominations



Oscar night will be a little more Canadians this year after the Nominations were announced earlier this morning.


In the best picture category three Canadians were nominated in the category including J. Miles Dale for Nightmare Alley, Denis Villeneuve for Dune and Roger Frappier for The Power of the Dog.


Villeneuve was also nominated in the category of Best adapted Screenplay for Dune.


Canadians were also nominated in the Best production design category, Patrice Vermette - for Dune, and Shane Vieau for his work on Nightmare Alley


Donald Mowat received a nomination for his work on Dune in the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category.


The last Canadian to recieve a nomination at the 94th Academy Awards is Luis Sequeira . Sequeira was nominated for their work on Dune in the Best Costume Design category.



The Power of the Dog lead the pack of nominations with 12, Dune was a close with 10 nominations in different categories, Belfast and West Side Story both received 7 nominations.
