The Honourable Randy Weekes served as a dedicated Member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1999 to 2024, representing Redberry Lake, Biggar, and Biggar-Sask Valley. A strong advocate for rural communities, he held several key roles, including Minister responsible for Rural and Remote Health and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

In retirement, Randy continues his commitment to public service through the Honourable Randy Weekes Strengthening of Parliamentary Democracy Legacy Fund. This annual $1,000 award supports University of Regina students who demonstrate a passion for democratic participation and inclusive leadership, with a focus on under-represented and low-income groups.
