Hinton Heads to the Polls on November 16th




The Town of Hinton, Alberta has set Noveber 16th as the by-election date to fill the mayoral vacancy left by outgoing Mayor Marcel Micheals.


Michaels, who stepped down from his position earlier, took on the role of CAO of the Village of Consort.

Nomination packages for prospective mayoral candidates are now available, and interested individuals have until October 19th, 2023, to submit their applications. If more than one candidate emerges, Hinton's residents will cast their votes on November 16th to decide their next mayor.


Until a new mayor is elected, Councillor Albert Ostashek will serve as Chair of Council - as he currently is the Deputy Mayor.
