🔴 LIVE: “Enough Is Enough”: Alberta Municipalities Push Back Against Province

Today we’ve been talking about the growing tension between Alberta’s provincial government and the municipalities it represents.
The province’s decision to pause local infill development in Edmonton has sparked a strong response from Alberta Municipalities President Dylan Bressey, who calls it the latest example of provincial overreach and an erosion of local democracy.
From restrictions on automated traffic enforcement and municipal elections to the costly redesign of Calgary’s Green Line LRT, municipalities say provincial interference is undermining the authority of locally elected leaders.
Alberta Municipalities represents 264 communities across the province, and its message to the Premier is clear: respect the democratic will of local voters and treat municipalities as partners, not adversaries.
So where should the line be drawn between provincial authority and local decision-making?
Joining us live to discuss that is Alberta Municipalities President Dylan Bressey.
Dylan, welcome to Municipal Affairs.
