On The Road In Saskatchewan

ree

Welcome to Municipal Affairs.

There is nothing more exciting than getting in your car, and hitting the open road. Destination small town, Saskatchewan.

And last month that is exactly what SUMA did.

Every year, the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association hosts its Regional Roadshow—an opportunity for local leaders to come together, share insights, and tackle issues that matter most to their communities.

This year communities like Elbow, Esterhazy, Delisle, Whitewood, and Gravelbourg hosted regional meetings, with two needing to be cancelled due to the ongoing Wildfires in Northern Saskatchewan.

These gatherings bring together mayors, councillors, and municipal administrators from across SUMA's membership. They’re more than meetings—they’re a chance to build connections, dive into educational sessions, and get updated on SUMA’s latest initiatives.

On today’s episode, we’re sitting down with SUMA President Randy Goulden to talk about what came out of this year’s roadshow—what we heard on the ground, the emerging regional priorities, and what’s ahead for Saskatchewan’s cities, towns, and villages.
