"L" is for Leadership in an Emergency

Municipal governments are comprised of local elected officials and encompass a range of administrative bodies, including cities, towns, villages, and municipal districts.

This is the Political Trenches: Local Government at Work, the show dedicated to talking about the most pressing issues confronting municipal governments throughout Canada.

We are back after a month's hiatus, and today we are continuing our journey through the Municipal Alphabet.

I long with my co-host Ian McCormack, will provide insights and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that confront local governments as they strive to serve their communities.

Today we bring you the letter ‘L’ which stands for Leadership in an Emergency. Later in the episode, we will speak with a Mayor from Alberta who was on the front lines of the most recent Alberta Wildfires.

We will first though talk about a vote from a small municipality in Ontario, which decided against raising any flags besides governmental ones on governmental properties, we will talk about a small village in the North West Territories, and we will end in New Brunswick talking about the provincial governments recently introduced bill 45.
